Week 8 : Keep Debt under Control

Last evening, we discussed ways to reduce debt using the Snowball method or the Avalanche method. As well as being aware of the Danger of Debt. Review your payment obligations and write about 1 – 3 bills that you plan to immediately reduce and the method you plan to use to do so.

  1. Hi. I enjoyed our last class. I plan to do snowball method for a $400 student loan I owe and for a car loan I only owe $1600 to. After that, I'm going to do avalanche method, paying off a credit card that has a 30% interest rate. I am determined to make it happen. I am also not going to use my credit cards and will continue to use my credit wisely. I'm grateful to learn about these things in class.

    1. That's a great plan, starting off with the Snowball Effect method to knock out those similar debts, and switching it to the Avalanche after shows you're really thinking ahead. Staying away from the credit cards for right now is a smart idea.

    1. That's amazing, sounds like the snowball method is really doing its thing for you. Once those cards are done, trying out the Avalanche method will help you knock out the bigger things even faster. Keep pushing, you're on the right track!

  4. I'm going to try to stop letting the bills stress me out. I love The Snowball Effect because it's very effective for me as I've used it in the past.
Recently, I got rid of my Internet bill because it was too high, and I combined it with my phone bill, it saved me almost $ $150 a month. Next, I'm going to try to make an extra payment on my credit card consolidation or car note to bring the balance down. They are so close to being done. Two years might seem like a long time, but to me, it's like Wow, it's so close to being done and all the extra money that I've been putting for those bills, I will now be able to start saving once it's paid off. I'm done letting these bills run me. I'm taking control one payment at a time.

  5. The bill that stresses me out the most, is my electric bill.
There's also my dmv tickets I need to pay, I order to get my license. I have been dying to get this bill taken care of, ever since I got.my apartment, some.sort of stability in my life. Lol
